Michael Mitchell, 68, of Indianapolis passed away on August 5th, 2019.  Mike was born to the late Clifford N. & Elizabeth A. Mitchell. On February 8, 1975 he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Mitchell.

Mike is survived by his daughter Katie Rouzer, sister Patricia Strouse, sister Kathleen Sanderson, seven loving grandchildren and numerous extended family members.  He was preceeded in death by his daughter, Erin Harris and wife, Mary Jo Mitchell.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who was a calming, silent strength to all who knew him.  He loved a good get together ensuring that his guests had full drinks and full hearts. He spent countless hours with his grandchildren and was the first call when his family or friends needed a “handy man.”  Mike was an avid reader, won most games of cards and had a soft spot for black and white movies.  He told insanely lengthy stories, loved a good joke and absolutely adored his family.

A private Celebration of Life will be held with family and he will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

We so enjoyed both Mike and Jo in our Small Group Bible Study. Love, laughs, and caring about each other were an important part of our Bible studies. They will be greatly missed.
Thoughts and prayers for you Katie, Mike, and boys, and the rest of your extended family who loved them both so much.

Oh, Katie, you’ve had more than your share of loss. I’m sending my deepest sympathy along with love and hugs. My hunch is that you’ll always look for the light. And you will be the light. Gros bisous,
    Madame Epperson
